As Burger foundations go, this one could withstand a 8.5 earthquake. A perfectly seasoned patty charbroiled to perfection and placed on a chewy, tender, fresh kaiser equal a burger to be reckoned with. Now, not only was the patty/bun combo outstanding, the produce was up to the task as well and the sauce to topping ratio was right on in my books. Add all of that with some silky, buttery sauteed mushrooms some thick cut bacon and my friend, we have a contender.
One thing that struck me was the presentation. I mean, the instant this burger took its rightful seat directly in front of me, I was barely able to hold back long enough to snap a quick picture for this page. It sat there, towering over my healthy serving of fries as if to declare it's position above all others and I was not about to argue. Speaking of the fries, they too were a great compliment. I elected to go with the chipotle mayo to add a little kick, and it did just that. So, as 'extras' go, this burger could have been considered a team effort, everything came together and made one helluva meal.
It's a BBQ house, so you can't go wrong. It's a smaller sized joint with great jazz decor adorning the walls and a laid back atmosphere. I quite enjoyed just sitting by the window watching people pass by, killing time until the burger came at which point I shut everything else off and submitted to my primal instincts.
Burgers Etc can pretty much forget about the 'etc'. I mean, I'm sure everything there is tasty, but I am not sure I will ever know, as I don't think I could go in and not order their burger. Outstanding is an understatement, and while burger perfection is nearly unattainable in my eyes, these folks are flirting with the concept and doing a bang up job of it too.
